Project presentation

The Community of Practices is a participatory research action project on African humanism knowledge for peace and development in harmony with the balance of nature and in the context of eco-planetary humanism. The website aims to provide a concrete backup for discussion and sharing of ideas and experiences to the Network of Foundations and Research Institutions for the promotion of a culture of peace in Africa.

The proposal intends, in fact, to develop and to implement the results of Luanda Forum and represent an operational tool to foster dialogue and exchange of experiences and reflections among all those who are giving origin to the Network. In this sense the Community of Practices itself wants to represent a contribution for the point 4:

1. Cultural sources and resources for sustainable peace in Africa

2. The management of natural resources for the prevention of conflicts and sustainable development

3. Young people, actors of change for peace and development

4. Actions for creating a continental movement under the auspices of the African Union and UNESCO

The Community of Practices, through a trandisciplinary approach, offers to start with the two projects proposed by the UNESCO Chair in Culture of Peace, University Félix Houphouët-Boigny (Abidjan, Ivory Coast):

- Research-action project on endogenous method for conflicts prevention and resolution in Africa

- Panafrican contest for conflicts prevention and resolution at school and university

The proposal for Community of Practices involves the use of a dedicated web space with two different areas: one area on open access, for the public the other as private web space dedicated to research community.

The Home Page Project can offer to a large public some general information on the projects of the Community and one section are dedicated to News and events and this permits the communication of Community activities and it informs about events of National and International relevance linked to the matters of research community.

From the Home Page moreover is possible to access at the public section of Mediateca, that could represent the Portfolio of research and it presents a indexed section constantly adjourned with principal selected documents.

The access to Web Research Community is reserved through login and it offers to researcher community a set of on line management tools: forum, workshops, database.

The use of an online “Community of Practice” can represent a tool for sharing and promoting best practices in research in different disciplinary sector and their internationalization through multimedia tools and international events.
